Location: PPP premises, Westway Sports Centre, youth centres
Who is this course for?
This course is for young people who enjoy sports or who are interested in a career in sports science, coaching, or indoor and outdoor sporting disciplines.
Course Overview:
Activities include: Football, Basketball, Cricket, Rock Climbing, Lawn Tennis and trips to other professional sporting environments
Learning through a combination of theory and practical which entails planning and delivering safe and effective sessions.
Course focus:
• Introduction to sport science – introduction to risk assessments, learning about bones and joints muscles and its actions
• Sports specific training
• Organisational skills
• Safety in sports
• Fitness for sports and health
• Planning and leading a session on his / her own
• Games and activity experience
• Leadership experience
• Participation
• Introduction to Risk Assessment
• Session evaluation: giving and receiving constructive feedback

This course is delivered and supported by PPP trained social-inclusion practitioners.
