ESOL Programme
A full time intensive programme for English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). This programme is designed for young people who are new arrivals into the area, asylum seekers or refugees.
The Context
For many young people who are new arrivals, their needs extend beyond learning and accessing the English language. For many of these young people, a much more holistic and therapeutic approach is needed.
Following on from 15 years of experience, The Pupil Parent Partnership's ESOL programme has been developed as a response to the following:
• The constant flow of new arrivals into the West London area
• The lack of School places for new arrivals, especially in Year 11
• Unsustainable drop-out rates of new arrivals in-filled into FE Colleges prior to PPP Support
• The limited rights of this vulnerable cohort
• The complex social and emotional needs presented
• The need for culturally appropriate family / carer support
• The need for support in traditionally Post-16 environments
